How will the glass process develop in the future? What do you think

1. Energy conservation and emission reduction

To address the global warming effect, in the 1997 Kyoto protocol, developed countries cut their annual greenhouse gas emissions by 5.2 per cent per year from 2008 to 2012.

Although the Kyoto protocol in developing regulations of the state, no task, because of the greenhouse gas emissions rate in developing countries is growing rapidly, calls for implementation of energy conservation and emissions reduction in developing countries is growing. The Kyoto protocol explicitly allows "emissions trading" : countries with excessive emissions can buy "consumption" of greenhouse gas emissions from under-emitting countries. Countries with large greenhouse gas emissions are under great pressure to develop various technologies for energy conservation and emission reduction.

2. Total oxygen combustion

Since the 1990s, the developed countries have widely adopted the technology of oxygen combustion in glass fiber, container, optical and electronic glass kiln. Total oxygen combustion can effectively reduce the emission of pollutants such as NO and dust, save energy consumption, reduce or avoid the cost of construction in environmental protection and heat storage rooms, and improve the production and quality of glass products.

After adopting the whole oxygen combustion technology, the combustion gas is greatly reduced. However, the concentration of harmful water vapor in SiO2 has been increased by 2 times, and the refractory materials with SiO2 in the upper part of the kiln have been severely eroded. For example, the life of a silicon brick has been reduced from 10 years to 2 years, restricting the development of the whole oxygen combustion technology.

3. New melting system

The new kiln technology also includes decompression clarification and immersion combustion. Decompression clarification is the process of removing the glass liquid into the vacuum chamber, which is made into glass by degassing, homogenizing and cooling. Immersion burning nozzle is burning is placed in the bottom of the kiln, the gas and oxygen blowing glass, burn in the presence of liquid phase, can use of energy, enhancement of heat transfer in the kiln gas and glass, to speed up the physical and chemical changes, reduce energy consumption, increase production, improve the quality.

4. Alternative fuels

In order to reduce the cost of production, some glass enterprises in our country have carried out experiments and used petroleum coke instead of heavy oil to make glass, and obtained initial success.

Petroleum coke can be used as an alternative fuel, and its calorific value is about 30-36 MJ·kg, which is 0.1% to 0.3%, volatiles about 10%, and carbon content is about 90%. At present, the price of fuel grade petroleum coke is only 1/4 to 1/3 of that of heavy oil. In recent years, domestic petroleum coke production is increasing rapidly. In 2005, the total output of national petroleum coke was 640,000 tons. Overall, 75 percent of petroleum coke can be used as a fuel - grade by-product. If petroleum coke is used to replace heavy oil completely, the fuel cost of each 900t·d-1 glass furnace can be reduced by about 60%, and the economic benefit will increase by more than 65 million yuan per year. Even with the cost of dealing with pollution, 30% of the cost can be saved. The test shows that the use of petroleum coke can produce qualified glass, but it can affect the service life of the refractory material in the regenerator.
